Maria Fotiu is a clinical research industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience working within sites, contract research organizations, and pharma/biotech companies. She has held multiple executive leadership roles in clinical development, focusing on delivering for customers while driving clinical evolution and innovation, using data and insights, and incorporating technology.

As Syneos Health’s President, Sites and Patients, Maria led a global team of more than 6,500 employees across 75+ countries focused on site startup, clinical monitoring, clinical training, patient recruitment and engagement, decentralized clinical trials, and patient-centric solutions. Her leadership in strategy and innovation was recognized by the industry in May 2023 when she won a PM360 Strategist Award.

She is a graduate of The George Washington University with a focus on biological sciences and international health policy and programs.
